  • Both MHFA Certification and MHFA Essentials are for anyone who wants to feel more prepared to support someone experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis. These courses can be especially helpful for educators, managers, frontline workers, caregivers, community members, and anyone who wants to respond with more confidence, compassion, and care. No prior mental health background is required.

  • MHFA Certification is the more in-depth course and leads to full Mental Health First Aid certification. MHFA Essentials is a shorter, foundational course that offers practical learning in a more accessible format and provides a certificate of completion. Both courses help build confidence and strengthen people’s ability to respond supportively when someone is struggling.

  • Both courses help participants recognize signs of mental health challenges, respond with greater confidence and care, strengthen supportive communication, reduce stigma, and connect people to helpful supports. The learning is practical, people-centered, and designed to help participants feel more prepared in real-life situations.

  • MHFA Certification is 12 hours. MHFA Essentials is 6 hours.

  • Yes. MHFA Certification leads to full certification, while MHFA Essentials provides a certificate of completion.

  • Yes. Full attendance is required for both courses.

  • Courses may be offered virtually or in person, depending on the training format.

  • We aim to offer training at rates that are as accessible as possible. Pricing may vary depending on the course, registration type, or group booking needs.   • Yes. Kaleidoscope offers private training for workplaces, schools, organizations, and community groups. Group pricing may also be available.
