Come celebrate the launch of Sandra Yuen's collection of poetry, I Want to be Buried Standing Up, at the People's Co-Op Bookstore on July 9, 2026! The event starts at 7:00 P.M., and will be moderated by author Lenore Rowntree. You will not want to miss Yuen's inspirational words and her poetic emphasis on embracing the here and now.

Sandra Yuen is an author, artist, musician, and survivor of mental illness. She received the Courage to Come Back Award and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for overcoming severe adversity and giving back to the community. She wrote a memoir about her recovery from mental illness to provide insight and aid others, among other works. She uses creativity to release her fluctuating energies and explore her inner being while keeping perspective through humour and the joie de vivre. Her book of poetry entitled I Want to be Buried Standing Up is forthcoming with At Bay Press.
